BECOMING A COMPANY MEMBER

  • COMPANIES

    Competing dancers range in ages from 5 to 19. Each dancer will be placed in an appropriate company level based on audition results.

    Dancers may also audition for solo, duo, and trio roles. Placement may be requested, however the studio director will oversee appropriate placement for all dancers.

  • AUDITIONS

    Auditions are held annually for each individual company. Our auditions are judged by external performers and dance educators to create a completely fair and unbiased results.

    In order to participate in our audition process the dancer is required to join one of our summer dance camp or intensives. Visit our summer dance page for more information.

  • REQUIREMENTS

    Requirements are different for each company. All company students are required to attend summer intensives and evening classes and must have consistent attendance during the regular dance year. All company members must be in class the week prior to competition.

    Members will have a few mandatory rehearsal weekends which will be set at the beginning of each competition season.

All prospective company members are required to participate in summer intensives to be considered for company placement.

One Summer Ballet Intensive

One Summer Dance Intensive (Serious Young Dancer or Creative Movement)

One Guest Choreographer Intensive (Ages 11+)

One Hip Hop Intensive (Jr, Teen, Senior Co Members)

One Summer Tap Intensive (Jr Tap, Tapestry Co Members)

ADFA Companies, Dancers and Directors have received top awards all over the country. Many of our company members have gone on to college with dance scholarships and/or professional dance careers as performers, teachers and choreographers.

Solos, Duos, & Trios.

Our solos, duos and trios are decided after auditions are complete. You will have an opportunity to fill out a request form informing our director of your wishes. From there our studio owner will make the final call for each dancer. Decisions will be based on what is best for each individual dancer including, choreographer, style, and who is performing with who.
