Lauren, known in the dance and yoga community as Loz, is an Academy of Dance and Fine Arts alumni. She graduated in 2014 with her BFA in Dance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. During her time at UNCG, she was able to study choreography and dance intensively from former company members from Martha Graham, Alvin Ailey, and Bill T. Jones. Lauren has trained extensively in Musical Theater, Safety Release technique, Contemporary, and Jazz dance under Sonya Tayeh, Larry Keigwin, Jason Winters, BJ Sullivan, T. Lang and many more.
Post graduation, she continued her studies at the American Dance Festival, The American College Dance Festival Association, and Sydney Dance Company. While in Sydney, Lauren worked as a guest artist and choreographer throughout the city. In 2016, Lauren received her 200 hr RYT yoga certification. She is exploring the connection between yoga and dance and how they can work together to provide a strong mind and body connection for growing dancers. Her conquest took her to Greece where she studied Gaga technique and its connection to dance and yoga and most recently Lauren has studied with Sugarfoot Therapy on injury prevention and recovery for dancers which had lead to a better understanding of dancer anatomy and how to support safe dance training. She is now a creative team member for Relative Motion to train dancers and teachers on making anatomy visual and easy to understand.
Lauren has a passion for creating a healthier dance community and supporting the mental and physical challenges dancers face. After 28 years in the dance industry it is her dream to raise the vibration of the dance community through her passion of helping young dancers grow and learn both mentally and physically.
